Your feline friends' eyes were often used on horror movies. Yet if you're a pet owner, you'll know the cat 's look is really the opposite of what's depicted on film. This is why you need to be aware of the importance of cat eye care.
I Love You:
What do those words mean to cats? Of course through their heads. This is why the look shouldn't scare you. How's this working out? The cat looks at you for a long time, first. And then, slowly, it blinks its eyes. Some people tag this as a kiss to a cat. Yet you might tell that this is the way your cat thinks it loves you, too.
Yet how can you give back the favour? Simple, simply follow in the lead of your pet. Stare at it for a long time then blink your eyes slowly. Look? The eyes of cats may also be used as elements for romantic movies.
Not Third Eye:
Don't believe you see horror movies. Cats have no third-eye. Their vision is much better than it is with humans. What cats have is a third eyelid, instead of a single eye. This is called a membrane which is nictitated.
The inner eyelid defends the cats' eyes against harm and dryness, too. You'll find this membrane can often close when a cat is sick. This should alarm you to promptly call the vet or get your cat to them.
But once a cat is happy this third eyelid will also show up. So just by looking at the membrane you'll know what mood your cat is in.
Pupil:
The pupil of the eyes of your feline companion should be examined too. A decrease in one pupil's size can be indicative of an inflammation. It may also be a precursor of a sort of neurological condition called the Horner 's Syndrome. Or worse, it can also indicate central nervous system tumors or injuries.
Nocturnal Vision:
Don't believe what others say about cats being blind in colour. They'll see some. We can not see as clearly as human beings do, but it's not like we can see no colors at all.
Cats can see from afar, too. It is very different from humans. Looking at items too similar to them they find it blurred.
Yes, the nocturnal vision is for cats. Yet, in utter darkness, they can not see. Do you see the muscles on their iris which surround their eyes' pupils? They are constructed in such a way that when exposed in the bright lights it narrows into a vertical split. And when the actions are in a very dim light it opens absolutely.
The cats can trace the feature back to their roots. When left out in the wild or left with no one to care for them, they will use these to hunt for food during the night.
Forget the horror flicks, then. You have the thrills there already. It's not time to put any thought into looking after cat paws. Don't let anything minor get worse. If something's wrong, call the vet immediately. You don't want to lose sight of your cat, or even risk their lives. Being healthy still better than being blind.
