Let's Have a Look on Some Dog Training Commands

Often we are awed to see fine bird dogs in movies and in action. They do excellent bird dog work, and they never fail to obey the commands of their owners. Then we wonder- How could it be? Could bird dog training get the best out of my puppy?

Hey, the easy answer is yes, but you got to spend hard.

There are many breeds of dogs which could be trained as excellent bird dogs. A successful starting point may be to train them in obeying commands. Training practitioners accept the fact that dogs need to understand the language they use to get the dog responding to the order. There are only three key commands in this style of training which should be learned by both the owner and the dog. They 're all whoa! – Come on! And heel. And heel!

It's The Whoa! Command:

The whoa is the most important word! Command. This advice suggests that the dog should pause and attempt not to go any further until they order him to do so. When the dog is completely following this order, it will clearly demonstrate how loyal and respectful he is of his owner. Full obedience is shown by obeying the order no matter how far the distance between the commanding giver and the dog is.

This order is also useful for dogs who go too far ahead, when the dog flushes the bird on its own and the owner wants him to stop, and when the dog decides to play with the bird around. This would be better for the trainer to come to the dog and praise him for a well done job, too.

The Come! Command:

This order clearly indicates the dog should be approaching you as directed. The use of this command is quite straightforward. Say for example, if the dog comes to you the moment you order him to do so, it will be much easier to retrieve. There are also dogs that are a little stubborn and may try to go off in different directions. Giving this command will help you keep a safe distance from your dog in case he wants to do things his way.

It's The Heel! Command:

If you want to see your dog walk alongside you, the heel! Command is the most powerful device. To signal his release, it is usually matched with another one-word command such as "okay" or "go." This will let him know he 's done favorably and he's able to chase for you again.

Every time the dog performed well, they never hesitate to give him a touch, a treat, or a compliment to appreciate his performance. Good dogs have the ability to please their masters. If you can let your dog see that his performance pleases you, and you want him to repeat it, the best thing you can do is reward him. Overtime, so long as you allow him to, he will learn to repeat the same desirable action.

Training for bird-dogs is not straightforward. That's the reason it's so few dog birds around. If you really want to turn your dog into a very good bird hunter, however, you should be prepared to spend some time and patience in perfecting the three simple commands used in this exercise.
